To get some discussions going wanted to see what your procedures/progressions you use with new or incoming athletes?

We have all new athletes start on a body weight phase and earn the right to progress by showing proper movement patterns. They then go to a base phase that works on basic lifts, then progresses to the sports workout.

This has worked very well for us. As I am sure you get, we have A LOT of athletes that have zero movement skills and this progression has really helped our athletes progress better throughout their time with us vs just jumping right into the full workouts.

We have developed progression/regressions for all our major movements: Squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press, and cleans. 

We start all our new people at the beginning and once they have learned the pattern they progress to the next stage. This can be very frustrating for our males athletes because they want to lift heavy weight right away. We make sure we explain why we are doing the progressions/regressions and help them understand they will be stronger in the long run by following the program.
