Continuing Education Coordinator Position

The Continuing Education Coordinator ensures that individuals holding active NSCA certifications (certificants) have access to high-quality continuing education (CE) activities by evaluating existing CE activities, identifying new CE activities, supporting certificants and external authors/developers CE content, and productizing educational content produced by NSCA.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive catalogue of approved CE activities for certificants.
  • Identify new CE activities for certificants.
  • Evaluate content (articles, presentations, lecture outlines, etc.) for adherence to NSCA Guidelines for Continuing Education (Guidelines).
  • Develop, maintain, support, and administer a process for external authors/developers of content to petition for recognition of their content as NSCA-approved CE. 
  • Provide guidance and feedback to NSCA departments that develop educational or other program content in interpreting Guidelines.
  • Create, and/or manage the creation of, assessments (e.g., quizzes) to evaluate the learning objectives of CE content. 
  • Determine the appropriate number of CE units (CEUs) to be awarded for CE activities.
  • Assist in pricing and productizing CE content developed by NSCA.
  • Add and maintain NSCA CE products on NSCA’s website. 
  • Assist in crediting CEUs earned by certificants in NSCA’s database.
  • Assist in creating reports (e.g., utilization of continuing education content, adequacy of available CE activities, sales of CE products, etc.).
  • Provide phone and email support to certificants and CE providers with questions regarding CE Guidelines and processes. 
  • Occasional travel to NSCA events.
  • Other activities that support the success of NSCA certification programs, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field.
  • Working knowledge of purpose and operations of NSCA certification programs.
  • Working knowledge of basic HTML and content management systems (CMS).
  • Working knowledge of association management software (AMS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate skill in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active NSCA certification.
  • Active NSCA membership.
  • One to two years’ experience developing, delivering, or evaluating educational content in the field of exercise science.
  • Experience assessing learning objectives and/or outcomes. 
  • Experience using Personify AMS.
  • Experience using Ektron CMS.
