Dr. Schilling is an Associate Professor and Director of the Exercise Neuromechanics Laboratory at the University of Memphis. He has a background as a strength and conditioning coach and national-level weightlifter. His research primarily concentrates on the neuromuscular system’s expression of force and the responses/adaptations of the body to resistance exercise. Other research interests include nutritional ergogenic aids and resistance training in special populations such as Parkinson’s disease, as well as tactical strength and conditioning. He received the NSCA Outstanding Young Investigator Award in 2010 and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research Editorial Excellence Award in 2009. He became a Charter Fellow of the NSCA in 2007.
