Nice singing voice ;)Great job of laying out the information, comparing the claims to evidence.
Can we get copies of the charts?
Great presentation!!! Any chance I can get the references used? Or presentation?
Really enjoyed this presentation. Well done.
Great information! Highly educational and is a topic which can apply to common practice in today's society. Thank you Alan!
I agree with Jessica. It seems that the presenter is on a mission to disprove the Paleo Diet without complete research. 1. The Paleo Community does not blame the agricultural revolution for the onset of disease. If the community did, then they would not
more» have backyard gardens. What is being blamed is the use of wheat, corn, and like products. Most of these food cause inflammatory symptoms. 2. What about the technological and industrial revolution? Well, it is also blamed because it reduced the amount of physical activity, and lack of mobility that these provide.3. As far as allowed and prohibited foods, there are some exemptions. The list that the presenter uses is for restricting the foods that might have adverse reactions to the individual person. Each person's reaction to a food is different to another, but there are some similarities. For example, on the list it says that potatoes are not allowed, but for active individuals potatoes (starch) is fine for extra energy. It is asked to peel the skin off the potato to avoid the anti-nutrients of the skin.4. I also believe that the presenter misinterpreted Dr Cordain's quote. I recommend the presenter to grab a Paleo book from any author that he wishes, and go to the references in the back. There is no speculation there. Actual research is provided. There is much more I can write on this presentation, but I have run out of time and space.«less
Disappointing, to say the least. I will write as to why here once I find out where his information and research came from for this lecture.
Good stuff indeed! Very well analyzed and reviewed position on the science of Paleo type diets compared to common anecdote, case study and empty claims. Well done Alan.
