Fueling Champions
by Stacy Fairey, MPH, RD

This presentation will provide an overview of how training influences energy and nutrient needs and explain basic nutritional strategies for optimal athletic performance.  Attendees will learn how nutrient needs of athletes change based on training intensity and periodization and why nutrition is important for recovery after training. The role of the sports dietitian in supporting the health and performance of athletes will also be discussed, and attendees will be given additional nutrition resources to use to support their own athletes when needed.

Unlocking Health & Performance through Coaching, Wearables and HRV

This session will deal with empowering sustainable habit change through individualized coaching to improve recovery, sleep optimization and performance, as measured through HRV monitoring. Product demo and review of HRV and 8 controllable factors that influence HRV will also be included.

Coach Brian Johnson will be presenting a comprehensive approach on GPS data tracking used in college football off-season training. He will explain how he utilizes this data to develop training programs for football and team sport athletes.

Learning Objectives:
• Explain the long-term development from draft to big leagues
• Lay out the on-boarding process for a newly drafted player
• Review pre-season and in-season testing protocols
• Review the overall objective for a baseball player's in-season training plan
• Discuss how testing protocols will dictate weight room prescription

    All refund requests must be submitted in WRITING and should include the reason for cancellation. NO refunds will be accepted via phone. A 50% refund will be granted on or before the early registration date. NO REFUNDS will be given after the early registration date.

    If they are available, you will receive them via email within 2 weeks after the event.

    The NSCA will automatically apply the CEUs to your NSCA Account. If you need to report CEUs elsewhere, you may use the Certificate of Attendance.
