This presentation discusses whether it is possible to use exercise to enhance the stress tolerance (resilience) of individuals. By combining relevant modern research, personal experience, and input from other disciplines (e.g. philosophy, psychology, and psychiatry) concerned with resilience this presentation will provide the listener with useful concepts and drills that may serve to enhance their own practice.

What Is Sport Science: An Approach to Data Analysis From a Sports Performance Coach

Attendees will learn the necessary skills and tools to start a sport science program.  We will investigate what sport science is, how it can help us improve athlete health and performance, and finally how to collect, manage, and visualize performance data.

Keynote: The Role of a Strength and Conditioning Professional in Concussion Management and Recovery
by Tina Atkinson, MD

A review of the physiology of concussions will be provided including signs and symptoms, grades, and return to play timeline. Attendees will be provided with an understanding of the role of the S&C coach within an integrated sports team.

    All refund requests must be submitted in WRITING and should include the reason for cancellation. NO refunds will be accepted via phone. A 50% refund will be granted on or before the early registration date. NO REFUNDS will be given after the early registration date.

    Will I receive the speaker PowerPoint presentations?
    If they are available, you will receive them via email within 2 weeks after the event.

    Will I receive a Certificate of Attendance?
    Yes. A certificate will be emailed to you approximately 2 weeks after the event.

    How do I report my CEUs?
    The NSCA will automatically apply the CEUs to your NSCA Account. If you need to report CEUs elsewhere, you may use the Certificate of Attendance.

    Can anyone register for this event?
    Yes. Anyone who is interested in an NSCA Event can register.

    Do I need a Membership to register?
    No. You only need an NSCA Account to register. If you do not have one, you can create one for free.
