9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Applied Velocity Based Training in a Team Setting by Cody Hughes, MS Velocity Based Training is not a training methodology, but a feedback tool that will instantly increase the effectiveness of your training. In this sesssion Coach Hughes takes us through his journey with Velocity Based Training and why he believes it’s the best route for strength training prescriptions. Recommendations, implementation, and data analysis will be included. |
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Chronic External Loading During Daily Living to Improve Power by Eric O’Neal, PhD, CSCS Chronic external loading during daily living (ELDL) consists of wearing a weight vest for extended period of time outside of formal training sessions as a non-traditional approach to improve explosive task performance. This presentation will cover the research history of ELDL and provide evidence-based approach support for who, when, and how ELDL can be effectively implemented. |

We will discuss programming strategies to enhance remote coaching through athlete feedback, progress assessments, and how to track, read, and interperet performance and training data. |
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Trick or Treat?: Evaluating Popular Performance-Enhancing Supplements by Tyler Williams, PhD, CSCS and Christopher Ballmann, PhD In this presentation we will discuss how coaches and athletes can better evaluate performance enhancing supplements and examine some of the most commonly consumed supplements by athletes and fitness enthusiasts. |
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Sport Science Concepts - Lessons Learned from Professional USL League One Soccer by Greg Ryan, PhD, CSCS,*D, TSAC-F,*D Working with professional athletes is incredibly rewarding, but presents a number of unique challenges. This presentation will focus on: 1) the development and implementation of a Sports Science department at the professional level; 2) the daily operations, machinations, adjustments, and pitfalls of data collection, analysis, and distribution; and 3) a discussion on how the lessons learned from this experience may benefit sport science professionals who work, or have aspirations to work, within a professional (or collegiate) sports organization. |
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Assessing and Programming for the Rotational Athlete by Cal Tinsley, MA, CSCS This presentation will be an overview of how we assess each athlete at Tinsley Performance derived from my 13 years of S&C experience working with collegiate and professional organizations as well as local medical professionals. The goal is to address key areas to evaluate when assessing the rotational athlete and how to properly program for each individual. |
