Volunteer Leadership Opportunities

We are grateful for the hundreds of NSCA volunteers who sacrifice their time and energy to advance the strength and conditioning profession.  Earn continuing education as a volunteer with the NSCA while expanding your professional experience.  For volunteer guidelines, including information on requirements and term limits, refer to NSCA's Volunteer Handbook.

Volunteer for an NSCA Committee

The NSCA has eleven committees, each of which was established by the Board of Directors to meet the needs of the NSCA. Click below to learn more about one of these committees: Awards and Honors, Certification, Conferences, Diversity and Inclusion, Education, Finance, Membership, Nomination, Research, State/Provincial Directors, and Women's. Applications are accepted from October 1 to December or January 15 annually, depending on the committee.  

Volunteer for a Special Interest Group (SIG)

Each NSCA SIG has an executive council composed of a chair and at least two members. Applications are accepted from October 1 to December 15 annually.

NSCA’s State and Provincial Director (SPD) program is a network of volunteer leaders who facilitate NSCA’s North American efforts at a local level. Regional coordinators provide oversight and training across nine regions. Applications are received throughout the year for open positions.

Volunteer for the Board of Directors

The NSCA Board is the governing body that guides the NSCA. It is comprised of a President, Educational/Institutional Strength and Conditioning Professional Member, Personal Trainer Member, Academician/Researcher Member, Sports Medicine Professional Member, three Board Members and a Public Member. 

APPLY: Candidate applications are accepted annually between October and the first business day of December. The application will be available in October.
