Privacy Policy

The NSCA takes your privacy seriously. The following policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you decide to share, and help you make informed decisions when you access or use the website.

Adopted: January 11, 2002
Current revision: January 3, 2018

What information does the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) collect from its professionals and web site visitors (www.nsca.com), and how is it used?
NSCA collects personally identifiable information (PII) such as name, email address, and physical address when a visitor creates an account, purchases a membership, registers for an event, completes a survey, or completes subscription registration for sites or services requiring such information. NSCA also collects billing information including credit card number, expiration date, and security code when a visitor purchases anything from the website.

NSCA may aggregate information for marketing and promotional purposes. NSCA may share PII with its affiliates with whom NSCA has mutual agreements.

In addition, NSCA collects web site visitors’ IP addresses to aggregate information about site visitors and their interests.

What are cookies and how are they used?
To facilitate a user-friendly experience, the NSCA's web site utilizes a cookie to store information including, but not limited to, shopping cart items, authentication details, and browsing history. Cookie information improves efficiency of customer service, allowing registered users to easily log in and complete transactions. Cookies also allow professional member-only access to certain areas of the web site.

Does NSCA share the information it collects with others?
NSCA does offer professional member mailing lists to approved sponsors. All materials are subject to evaluation. Email addresses and phone numbers may be provided to selected affiliates with whom NSCA has mutual agreements.

What else should you know about your privacy?
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online―such as a user name or e-mail address in a chat or bulletin board area, for example―you should be aware that the information provided can be collected and used by others. In addition, the NSCA sites contain links to other sites not owned or operated NSCA. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these sites.

In some cases users may link or are referred to third party sites from NSCA. User information collected on these third party sites may be shared with NSCA in aggregate form for internal tracking purposes and is not linked to any personal information.

NSCA has enabled "Google Display Network Impression Reporting." This allows Google Analytics to collect data about our traffic via Google advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers, in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation.

Opt-in/Opt-out
NSCA provides opportunities for professionals and web site visitors to customize their email preferences. If a professional or web site visitor wishes to subscribe, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. Professionals and web site visitors can opt out of these services at any time by updating their preferences here, contacting NSCA at nsca@nsca.com or calling NSCA at 800-815-6826. Professionals and web site visitors can also opt out by following the instructions included in each email.

If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics Advertising features that NSCA has implemented on our site, please view opt-out options. In addition, there are other ways to opt-out of Google Tracking features including Ads Settings, Ads Settings for mobile apps, or any other available means (for example, NAI's consumer opt-out).

How can I make changes to my personal information?
Professionals of the NSCA and registered users may update their personal information by clicking on the link “My Account” on NSCA.com and editing account information. Professionals and registered users may also contact NSCA at nsca@nsca.com or 800-815-6826 to request account information changes.

What security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of my information?
All web-based transactions requiring a credit card number take place through a secured, encrypted connection. Credit card numbers are stored by our payment processing vendor until an order is processed, unless you choose to save the credit card for renewals or future purchases. Our website and database systems are hosted in Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant environments to maintain security and protect cardholder data.

What about children?
Children under the age of 18 years should not submit any information to NSCA without their parent’s or guardian’s consent. NSCA does not monitor the age of its audience.

How will you be notified of changes in our privacy policy?
If NSCA plans to use information collected from users in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will communicate these changes on our website and through other available channels.
