Ken Brock is an 18-year veteran of the West Des Moines Police Department. Formerly working in the Narcotics and Patrol Divisions, he now serves in the Training and Emergency Management Unit as a full-time instructor and trainer. He is responsible for the coordination and training of department personnel, academy recruits, public/private partnerships, and instructor development programs. He has been a Suburban Emergency Response Team member, field training officer, defensive tactics instructor, and academy adjunct instructor. He is a certified Firearms and Patrol Rifle Instructor. Brock’s instructional career spans over 30 years to include 22 years in the United States Army and National Guard training pilot candidates, United States and foreign nation soldiers, law enforcement officers, public employees, and civilians.
