Jeff Connors retired from collegiate coaching in July of 2019 after a 31 year career. He also spent four months following his retirement working as an Exercise Physiologist for the Marine Corps Special Operations Command at Stone Bay. Previously, he spent three years directing the program at Bucknell University where he was also the Recruiting Coordinator for Wrestling, ten years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning at UNC Chapel Hill and eighteen years in the same roll at East Carolina University. Coach Connors had the privilege of coaching 16 Bowl eligible football teams and 9 first round draft choices. At UNC he was directly involved with the womens basketball program as well as football. During the years he directed the program they won the ACC Championship four consecutive years and played in two Final Four tournaments. In 2011 he joined his father as an inductee into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. In 2016 he was inducted into the USA Strength and Conditioning Hall of Fame. In 2017 he was named College Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year by the NSCA. In 2019 Coach Connors was the recipient of the Salem University Football Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award where he had been a three year starter at cornerback. He also won several titles and was active in powerlifting early in his career including a Florida State Police Olympics title while he was a police officer in Delray Beach, Fla. Jeff Connors and his wife live in Greenville, NC and have two children.
