Tony Soika is a 30-year veteran of the United States Army and has been a member of the NSCA since 1995. He has held the TSAC-F credential since its inception, serves as the current chair of the TSAC-F Exam Development Committee, and serves on the TSAC Report Editorial Review Panel. Presently, he is the Director of Fitness and Wellness for the 3,400 members of the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office in Jacksonville, Florida. Captain Tony Soika has a unique background in both the military and strength and conditioning settings. Previously, he was in his second tour as a company commander, overseeing the headquarters company at Fort Jackson, South Carolina (the armys largest training installation). Before his nomination to this assignment, he commanded a company of 241 trainees for a year. In his military career, he has been on three combat deployments, was at the World Trade Center on 9/11, and was selected by name to serve at the U.S. Army Physical Fitness School where he worked on redesigning the Army Physical Fitness Test and manual. He has served as a strength coach in Division I athletics, and trained athletes at every level from high school to the national Football League (NFL) and National Basketball League (NBA).
