After completing an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, Tara De Leon received a Masters degree in Human Movement: Sports Conditioning from A.T. Still University. De Leon was a volunteer Strength and Conditioning Coach for the United States Navy, and later went on to work as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Loyola University Maryland. She was a strength and conditioning coach at Athletic Performance Inc., but currently works as the Personal Training Director at Edgewater Fitness and is in her 17th year at Anne Arundel Community College as a professor of health, fitness, and exercise studies. De Leon has her Level 1 Performance Coach through United States of America Weightlifting (USAW), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Functional Movement Screen through Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Girls Gone Strong Pre and Postnatal Coach certification, as well as 12 other fitness certifications. Tara lives in Edgewater, Maryland with her husband of 10 years, 2 year old son, and Australian shepherd pup, Chula. She loves traveling, jet skiing, hiking and spending time on the water.
