Tempo (TUT) Training for In-Season and Off-Season Training in College Athletics

Research has shown that manipulating repetition tempo can improve muscular strength, hypertrophy, movement efficiency, and injury resilience when programmed appropriately.  While faster movement speeds are essential for developing power and explosiveness, slower tempos provide a controlled stimulus that enhances muscle activation, technical proficiency, and tissue adaptation.  By periodizing tempo training throughout the year, strength and conditioning coaches can maximize physical development during the offseason and effectively maintain performance during the competitive season.

    The NSCA will automatically apply the CEUs to your NSCA Account. If you need to report CEUs elsewhere, you may use the Certificate of Attendance.
