  • In a sport like football (soccer), training is practice and practice is training. From developing athletes to professional athletes, physical development time and buy-in is the limiting factor.
  • The development of youth athletes involves reaching a balance between multilateral development and specialized training. Our goal in this presentation is to identify the starting point to introducing a physical development model for young football players through the foundational, developmental and performance phases.
  • We will learn how to manage time poor environments, manage player engagement and manage player orientation. For our performance stage, leading into a professional career, we will identify the physical demands professional players undergo so we can explore how to best develop our players for the future.
