Learning Objectives: 

  1. When performing contrast/complex training, potentiation complexes should be incorporated into your strength /power and/or an explosive speed training block.
  2. Fatigue should dissipate before performing the target exercise. 2-3 minutes of rest to get the full effect of “potentiation”.
  3. Max effort must be emphasized when using sub-max loads on the target exercise.
