The NSCA advances the profession by supporting strength and conditioning professionals devoted to helping others discover and maximize their strengths. We disseminate research-based knowledge and its practical application by offering industry-leading certifications, research journals, career development services, and continuing education opportunities. The NSCA community is composed of more than 45,000 members and certified professionals who further industry standards as researchers, educators, strength coaches, personal trainers, and other roles in related fields.

Leadership

The NSCA brings together a diverse group of professionals from the sport science, athletic, allied health, and fitness industries. Our initiatives are governed by a board of nine directors, managed by an executive director, and carried out by headquarter staff and volunteers.

Our History

Founded in 1978 by a group of dedicated strength and conditioning coaches, the NSCA has grown to encompass strength and conditioning coaches, personal trainers, professors, researchers, students, allied health professionals, and more who are hungry for knowledge and passionate about furthering the industry.
