Update from NSCA — Your Feedback Matters

First, thanks to thousands of you who have taken the time to respond to periodic questions we’ve sent your way. Our goal in this process has been to use your feedback to make the NSCA a better organization. We have followed up on that feedback with phone calls to many of you in order to better understand your needs and challenges. We want to continue this process and provide routine updates on some of the changes we have made to better serve your needs.

Continuing Education and Recertification Processes

Some of you expressed confusion over the steps needed to attain qualifying continuing education as well as to get recertified. To address these concerns, we have improved the way continuing education progress information is displayed in your My Account section. In January, we began offering complimentary continuing education to help you with your recertification. This program is available to all members and will stay in place throughout 2019. We continue to review the recertification procedures to identify and implement even more improvements.

Education Choices

We received comments and suggestions for how to improve NSCA’s offerings for continuing education. In response, we have been producing additional video and article quizzes and expanded in-person and virtual event choices. In short, we are using your feedback to provide relevant continuing education both for those new to the field as well as those advanced in the profession.

Career Support

Some members shared the challenges of obtaining strength and conditioning career advice, support, internships and jobs. To better address these needs, we now have a Professional Development section on NSCA.com. NSCA’s Job Board has been enhanced to feature even more job opportunities, and we recently released a professionally-commissioned strength and conditioning salary survey. Expanded social media efforts and the growth of NSCA’s Coaching Podcast help professionals connect based on shared interests and learn from the best in the industry. And NSCA’s National Conference this year will have more career-building workshops and sessions than ever before.

It’s not easy being a strength and conditioning professional. Your personal stories remind us of the commitment and grit it takes to excel in this field. But your passion for the profession, and your love for the athletes and clients you serve, drive us to deliver gold-standard certifications, resources and service. Let’s keep the conversation going!
