NSCA Foundation Scholarship Committee Application

The NSCA Foundation is seeking 3 individuals to serve. Positions available are 3-year terms (July 15, 2024 - July 15, 2027). For more information on the position, click on the + signs below to expand each section.

  • Authority

    The NSCAF Board delegates sole authority to the Committee to make essential recommendations regarding processes and award distribution. The Committee shall function autonomously with regard to any and all undue influences in the fulfillment of its responsibilities. It shall, at all times, act in the best interests of applicants.

    The Committee shall remain accountable to the Board for the fulfillment of its responsibilities. The Board shall be obligated to revoke this delegation of authority if the Committee acts or demonstrates the intent to act in a manner that jeopardizes the mission or integrity of the NSCA/NSCAF or its programs.

  • General Guidelines

    In addition to the specific requirements for the establishment of the Committee as outlined in this document, the Committee shall function, and its members act, in accordance with all relevant policies and guidelines established by the NSCAF and the Board, e.g., Guidelines for NSCAF Committee and Volunteer Handbook. This document shall conflict with other guidelines and policies in instances where this document shall control.

  • Purpose

    Work in conjunction with the NSCAF to review applications for scholarships supported by the NSCAF and make recommendations for funding.

  • Structure

    The Scholarship Committee will be composed of three (3) individuals plus one (1) representative from the NSCAF Board of Directors (B.O.D.). Committee members must be current NSCA members and serve a three (3) year term with members rotating off annually. Members may be reappointed to the Committee and serve consecutive three-year terms but can only serve two full terms in their lifetime. Service of less than half the term is not a full term.

    The Chair of the NSCA Foundation Scholarship Committee is Responsible for:

    • Implementing the committee purpose statement as approved by the NSCAF BOD communicating with the NSCAF Board Liaison and the NSCAF senior staff member.
