The purpose of the National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation (NSCAF) is to support the mission of the National Strength and Conditioning Association by providing funding for educational and research activities that enhance the practical application of strength and conditioning. All general and specific guidelines for each respective scholarship are outlined below and should be closely read by the applicant to ensure all guidelines have been met prior to submission.
General Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Scholarship applications will be accepted from August 1 - October 15 annually
(The application will be available starting August 1st)
All scholarship applicants must be NSCA Members at the application deadline (on or before October 15) and must be pursuing a degree and career in the strength and conditioning field. Degree majors may include: Exercise Science, Human Performance, Physical Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training, Personal Training, Exercise Physiology, Human Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Physical Education, Kinesiology and Sport Science. Should you have a question regarding the eligibility of your degree, please email Foundation@nsca.com.
Applicants are not eligible to win more than one scholarship in any given year; however, applications can be made in more than one scholarship category in a given year. Applicants are eligible to receive up to two scholarships from each category for which they qualify. Members of the Scholarship Review Committee and NSCA Foundation Board of Directors are not eligible to receive scholarships and may not write letters of recommendation for applicants. NSCA employees and their families are ineligible to receive financial awards.
For applications to be considered fully complete, they must include the following documents: 3 letters of recomendation, a current resume, transcripts and a current NSCA membership and the time of the application deadline (and at the time of award). All documents must be received by October 15 at 11:59am annually. It is the applicants responsibility to ensure all required information is provided by the due date. Late materials will not be accepted.

This scholarship is designed to encourage minorities, ages 17 and older, to enter into the field of strength and conditioning. Minority is defined as "ethnic minority," as determined by the U.S. Census Bureau. Applicants must demonstrate they have been accepted into an accredited institution working toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in the strength and conditioning field. $1,500 awards are available.

Natasha Porter was an employee of the NSCA who passed away in October of 2016 from a courageous battle with breast cancer. Natasha was the Executive Assistant to the Executive Director and was also responsible for the management of all the NSCA awards. Through her installation of responsibility and strong work ethic, she inspired those around her. This scholarship is designed for the specific purpose of providing financial assistance to Education Recognition Program (ERP) School Students to attend their first National Conference to network and engage with professionals in the industry. The scholarship has been established to honor Natasha’s legacy and impact on the NSCA. Scholarships will provide the cost of the conference admission, travel, daily meal stipend and boarding accommodations. All scholarship applicants must be NSCA Members at the application deadline (on or before October 15), have not yet attended any NSCA Conference in any capacity, and a current student of an ERP school that is in good standing with the NSCA. Members of the Board of Directors, Scholarship Review Committee, NSCA and NSCAF employees and their families are not eligible to receive scholarships and may not write letters of recommendation for applicants.

This scholarship is given to NSCA Members seeking either an undergraduate or graduate degree in a strength and conditioning-related field. Awards in the amount of $1,500 are granted and are to be applied toward tuition charges accrued by the student.
1. Completed Application.
2. Current membership at time of application.
3. 3 letters of recommendation.
4. Official transcripts from each school attended.
5. Pursuant degree is in a strength and conditioning field.
6. Applicant has not won this award twice previously.
7. Is not a current member of the NSCA Foundation Board of Directors, Scholarship Review Committee, NSCA Board of Directors, NSCA Employee or employee's family member.

Jerry Martin (1956 – 2015) was a lifelong strength and conditioning coach. Coach Martin was known by his students and colleagues as a hard-working, devoted strength and conditioning professional with a love for teaching and applying science of strength and conditioning. To honor his legacy, a fund was established in his name. Learn more about Coach Martin’s legacy.The Jerry Martin Scholarship is designed for the specific purpose of providing tuition assistance to students planning careers as strength coaches, and majoring in a related field.
This scholarship is designed to support a female with an NSCA Professional membership (not a student). The scholarship will pay for National Conference Registration fee.

Awards will be made based on available funds raised by the NSCA Women’s Committee, with the goal of funding a minimum of one scholarship per year.
The Vitalyon Foundation’s mission is to inspire young adults to make informed decisions about their health, improve their athletic performance, and pursue careers in the health and wellness industry. The Vitalyon Foundation is partnering with the NSCA Foundation to offer the “Vitalyon Foundation Scholarship” to provide NSCA National Conference attendance (registration, airfare, lodging and meal per diem) to one recipient annually.
