Mark Young is a Physiologist out of the Pittsburgh Veterans Affairs under the Whole Health Division. Young received his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University followed by a Master's degree in Exercise Science and Wellness with a concentration in Fitness and Performance from Liberty University. He is currently a Doctoral student at the University of Pittsburgh in the EdD program with a Major in Health and Physical Activity. Young previously worked six years in cardiac rehabilitation. He is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), and Physical Activity in Public Health Specialist (PAPHS). Young is also a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) and is a United States Army Master Fitness Trainer. Young is an Afghanistan Campaign Army Combat Veteran who has found purpose in serving those who have served.
The NSCA is a recognized 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit dedicated to advancing strength and conditioning research and education for all people.
