Have questions about registering for an NSCA exam and how COVID-19 has impacted the testing process? Need information about exam extension and cancellations? We aim to keep our community informed as we adjust to meet the guidelines in an effort to keep you safe.

Pearson VUE Test Center Updates

Pearson VUE has reopened test center locations. The majority of Pearson VUE test centers are operating at full capacity.

While a test center appointment may not be immediately available, we encourage you to check back daily for available test appointments through the end of your elibitliy period.  If you are unable to schedule an appointment within the authorized period, please reach out to the Certification Department so that this period can be extended.  


SAFETY MEASURES | Please be advised, additional safety measures will be in place on the day of your exam.  Face masks/coverings will be required to enter the test center and MUST remain on during the entirety of your exam.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How will I know if my exam is canceled?

    You will receive an email cancellation notice.  You can also log in to your Pearson VUE account to see if you can still see your upcoming exam appointment.  

    If you can see your upcoming exam appointment, please expect your exam to go ahead as planned, but with additional health and safety measures in place.

  • What should I do if my appointment is canceled?

    Please log in to your Pearson VUE account to reschedule your exam.  Pearson VUE’s scheduling phone line is experiencing long wait times.  Unless it is absolutely necessary, it is recommended that you utilize the Pearson VUE website

  • What if my 120-day exam authorization period expires soon?

     If your authorization period is set to expire and/or unable to schedule an exam before your authorization expires, please contact the NSCA Certification Department exams@nsca.com and in the subject line, use Request for Extension.

  • What if I can’t take my scheduled exam?

     If you are unable to take your scheduled exam, you can either reschedule or cancel your appointment no later than 24 hours in advance by logging in to your Pearson VUE account.  

  • Can I reschedule my exam at this time?

    Yes.  You should attempt to reschedule your exam through your online Pearson VUE account.  The system will only allow you to book exams on dates that will be available for testing.  There is no fee to reschedule your exam within your authorization dates.

  • CSCS Exam Retakes

    For those that have passed one section and failed the other, you have one year to sit and take the second section.  After one year, the passing score will expire.  If your passing score is set to expire before July 30th, please contact the Certification Department in a timely manner so that arrangements can be made.
