Triathlon is growing at a phenomenal rate in the United States and worldwide. This session will cover the general aspects of triathlon, then compare and contrast them with off-road (XTERRA) triathlon. Specifically, this session will include the key differences in training and racing for off-road triathlon, as well as the impact of the swim on cycling and mountain biking. The differences in pacing strategies for the bike and how the mountain bike leg impacts the run differently than road triathlon will also be discussed. Finally, key aspects of race nutrition will be highlighted.
