This Award is given to a state or provincial director who has accumulated the most points during the year from April 1 to March 31, using the Evaluation Criteria format.

Joseph P. Lopez, CSCS 

Joe Lopez is the Head of the Health and Physical Education Department at Pope John XXIII High School. Lopez teaches 11th and 12th grade physical education, as well as exercise science. He was hired in 2016 as the school’s first full-time strength and conditioning coach. Lopez received his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Lynchburg College in Virginia, where he was a member of their baseball team. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and has been an NSCA Member since 2005.  Lopez is a published author for STACK Media and Strength Performance Daily on all topics of strength and conditioning for athletes of all sports. He is formerly an Advisory Board Member for the state of New Jersey and has since been promoted to the New Jersey State Director for the NSCA. Lopez currently works for Precision Sports Performance in East Hanover, NJ as a sports performance coach who creates individualized programs for athletes. Before joining the team at Precision Sports Performance, he worked for Inception Sports Performance and Center Court Athletic Club Tennis Academy. Lopez is a highly sought-after public speaker, who has presented at state, regional, and national clinics. Most recently, Lopez has been asked to present at the NSCA’s National Conference in the High School Strength Coach Track.
