ERP School List

The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) recognizes regionally accredited academic institutions for their educational programs that have met, and continue to meet, educational guidelines recommended by the NSCA. ERP recognitions are good for three years and schools are eligible for renewal following this three-year period.

ERP Personal Training Program

The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) Personal Training Program recognizes and distinguishes both 2-year and 4-year degree granting academic institutions with standardized, approved personal training curricula that is designed to prepare students for the NSCA-CPT® and the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certifications. The program does not have to be classified as a major, minor, sequence, or concentration. However, it does have to be a formalized area of study. A full list of required content areas can be found in the Personal Training Program application.

ERP Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program

The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program recognizes and distinguishes academic institutions that offer at least a Master’s degree with standardized, approved graduate strength and conditioning curricula that is designed to prepare students for the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certifications. Recognition can be achieved for applied curriculum, research curriculum, or both. A full list of required content areas can be found in the Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program application.

NSCA-CPT Exam Prep Live Clinics

The NSCA offers Exam Prep Live clinics for individuals preparing for the NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) exam. The NSCA-CPT Exam Prep clinic is a 2-day event and provides a blend of classroom lecture and hands-on training.

CSCS Exam Prep Live

Event

The NSCA offers an Exam Prep Live Clinic for individuals preparing for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam. The CSCS Exam Prep Live Clinics are offered in three formats: 2-Day and 3-Day options with a blend of classroom lecture and hands-on training. Additional Clinics are added to the calendar every 2-3 months.

NSCA Student Membership Information

Student members are required to provide verification of their current full-time student status to the NSCA Membership Department within 30 days of becoming a student member or of renewing a student membership.

Clarification on Recent Lawsuit Rulings

Recently, the court made a ruling on summary judgment motions filed by both NSCA and CrossFit. The rulings are not a final decision about the outcome of the case. Nor do they reflect a decision by the judge, that either CrossFit or NSCA won the case. The judge was asked by both CrossFit and NSCA to decide certain issues in advance of a trial by a jury.

NSCA Responds to CrossFit Lawsuit

Cross Fit Inc. recently filed a lawsuit against the NSCA. NSCA denies the allegations and claims made against it by CrossFit and will vigorously defend itself against this baseless lawsuit. At the center of the lawsuit is a research article published in NSCA’s Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. As with all research published in NSCA’s journals, the article in question was authored by independent researchers and accepted for publication following a rigorous peer-review process.
